✦ Synopsis
The unperturbed dimensions of isotactic PMMA have been obtained by the application of various theoretical treatments to laser light scattering measurements carried out in a good solvent (ethyl acetate). A mean value for /M of 7.25.10 -18 cm 2 mol g-~ was obtained. This value is shown to be in good agreement with that obtained from viscosity data in a theta solvent (acetonitrile 0 = 27.5°).

Intrinsic viscosity measurements were carried out on dextran samples (of different molecular weights) in aqueous solutions at 25, 28, 31, 34, 37, 40, and 43°C. The extrapolation methods were used for the data; they gave unperturbed dimensions, K 0 , of the chain. The unperturbed root-mean-square end
