We present a fast solver for the coupled mode equations in duct acoustics. It is based on a partitioning of the resulting system of ordinary differential equations into separate subsystems, the number of which increases by the separability of the problem. This structure is obtained by transformation

We present a trial solution for second-order coupled-mode equations and deri¨e power-conser¨ation law from the coupled-mode equations. We in¨estigate the ¨alidity of using the second-order equations and the slowly ¨arying en¨elope approximation, and the numerical results show that the usual assumpti
