The Quadrature Element Method (QEM) is a new concept in numerical methods which was introduced only recently. A quadrilateral quadrature element is developed in the paper and applied to the solution of two dimensional potential problems governed by Poisson or Laplace equations. The results of three examples are in good agreement with the available solutions. It is shown that the present quadrilateral quadrature element is very efficient and effective.
