✦ Synopsis
The &of cells (A) Pt, HI 1 HCl(m) 1 HgIC12, Hg and (C). Ag-AgCI 1 HCl(m) / Hg2C12, Hg have been measured at intervals of5"C aver the temperature range 5-55% (278.15-328.15 IC) using formamide as the solvent. The molal standard potentials of Hg, Hg&ZI, cleetrode, determined on the basis of ea&lata of cell (A), agree well with those derived from the emfof eelI (C) using known values of Eb reported earlier. Based on emfdata of these cells, the standard thermodynamic changes AGo, AH0 and AS0 for the cell reactions as well as the mean molal activity coe5cients of HCl at rounded mohlities have been determined.
