✦ Synopsis

The behavior of chromium(II1) in molten potassium hydrogensulfate (220" C, P(H,O) = 0.04 atm) is reported. Chromium(II1) exists as Cr" in acidic medium, and as chromium(II1) sulfate, which is insoluble in neutral medium but soluble in basic medium as Cr(S0,);. The values of acidity constants and the solubilities of Cr(II1) are reported.
