Viktor Strandgård, findes myrdet og lemlæstet midt i altergangen.
Skattejurist og arbejdsnarkoman Rebecka Martinsson, som for
længst har forladt fødebyen Kiruna i det nordligste Sverige, bliver
bedt om at vende “hjem” – barndomsveninden Sanne, søster til
den myrdede Viktor, har brug for hendes hjælp.
Modvilligt tager Martinsson tilbage til Kiruna, hvor hadet vokser
om kamp med mørket i et lille frikirkesamfund, der vil gøre at for
at bevare sine hemmeligheder.
