✦ Synopsis

The solid surface luminescence of micro amounts of biologically significant amines adsorbed on filter paper and derivatized using the formaldehyde/glutaraldehyde (FAGLU) and glyoxylic acid (GA) histofluorescence methods is reported. A correlation with histochemical studies is noted, making filter paper a valid alternative to animal tissues when derivatization reactions are studied.
