Abstract
An easy, safe, solventβfree and effective method for oxidative aromatization of Hantzsch 1,4βdihydropyridines catalyzed by hypervalent iodine (IBD and HTIB) to corresponding pyridine derivatives in high yields within short span of time. All reactions were carried out just by grinding the two reactants.
