β¦ Synopsis
We describe a new solid-state NMR imaging technique for abundant spins using magic sandwich echoes (MSE). Simple modification of the original MSE pulse sequence enables highly elXcient narrowing of broad NMR lines in solids, allowing high resolution imaging. Wider signal observation windows than those in multiple pulse approaches alleviate that the dead time and bandwidth problems in the signal detection, minimizing loss of sensitivity associated with the problems. Preliminary experiments performed on test samples with proton spin-spin relaxation times of 40-50 ps suggest that high resolution of less than 50 km can be achieved with the MSE technique.

To relax the high-speed requirement imposed on the gradient system used in solid-state proton imaging, we propose two simple modifications of the magic echo imaging sequence, TREV-16TS. In the first modification, the applied gradient is inverted in the middle of the RF irradiation; the second modifi
