Solid-state High-resolution 27Al-NMR Studies of Sodium Alumosilicate Glasses with Different Thermal History
The dependence of various structure parameters (stability of coordination polyhedra, chemical bond length, interbond angles) on the temperature of glass (up to the melting point) is an often discussed problem in glass science. Indirect information is only given by the results of measurement of several properties in dependence on temperature.
The exactly direct determination of structure parameters using X-ray diffraction or spectroscopic methods is very rare, because of experimental difficulties. Only few results exist for low melting systems (e. g. borate glasses).
The possibility to realize various fictive temperatures in glass by different cooling rates beneath the melting point is a compromise t o make out tendencies of structural change. We have also chosen this way for investigatingglasses wiht 27A1-NMR meas 11 re men t s.
