โฆ Synopsis
Optical measurements have been performed to study the melting and solidification of distributions of small metallic particles embedded in a matrix. Dark field electron microscopy and microdiffraction have been used to show that the particles rotate in their host in a 20 K temperature interval just before melting. An interpretation related to premelting effect or surface melting is given.
