✦ Synopsis

The reduction of nitric oxide by ammonia on platinum catalysts has been investigated in the temperature range 250 to 350°C at reactant partial pressures between 0.05 and 5 mbar. The combined potentiometric and kinetic measurements led to results which allow the prediction of the influence of oxygen on the selectivities of Na and NzO formation. Those predictions have been confirmed experimentally.
