✦ Synopsis

A two-year research program on solar photovoltaic desalination of brackish water by electrodialysis was carried out in the remote area of Fukue City, Nagasaki Prefecture. The standard of water produced was found suitable for drinking, the quantity exceeded expectations, and the system was found reliable for practical use.
