Fein-Marquart Associates, specialists in scientific software, is preparing to release Kekult, the first commercial software package to use artificial intelligence for interpreting scanned images of printed chemical structures. The package analyzes the images captured by scanning, and translates bonds, atoms, formulae, and most other features of chemical notation into computer-meaningful structural descriptions suitable for importation into other computer processes -eliminating manual re-drawing of the structures.
