Einkristalle von SnAl 2 OCl 6 wurden aus (den offenbar mit Oxid ¹verunreinigtenª Edukten) SnCl 2 und AlCl 3 in Kieselglasampullen mit Hilfe des Bridgman-Verfahrens gewonnen. Nach Ausweis der Einkristallstrukturanalyse kristallisiert SnAl 2 OCl 6 im monoklinen Kristallsystem (P2 1 /n, Z = 4, a = 942,3(2), b = 1225,8(2), c = 948,4(3) pm, b = 96,42(2)°). Als charakteristische Strukturmerkmale treten zentrosymmetrische Tetramere [Al 4 O 2 Cl 10 ] und Dimere [(SnCl 2/2 Cl 5 ) 2 ] auf, die u È ber gemeinsame Kanten letztlich zu einer dreidimensionalen Struktur miteinander verknu È pft sind. SnAl 2 OCl 6 , a Quaternary Oxide-Chloride with Edge-Sharing [Al 4 O 2 Cl 10 ] Tetramers and [(SnCl 2/2 Cl 5 ) 2 ] Dimers Abstract. Single crystals of SnAl 2 OCl 6 were obtained from the educts SnCl 2 and AlCl 3 (obviously containing an oxidic impurity) in silica ampoules with the aid of the Bridgman technique. According to single-crystal structure analysis, SnAl 2 OCl 6 crystallizes with the monoclinic system (P2 1 /n, Z = 4, a = 942.3(2), b = 1225.8(2), c = 948.4(3) pm, b = 96.42(2)°). Characteristic structural features are centrosym-metric tetramers [Al 4 O 2 Cl 10 ] and [(SnCl 2/2 Cl 5 ) 2 ] dimers which are connected via common edges, finally building up a three-dimensional structure.
