✦ Synopsis

Over the Iast few years, numerous hydrocarbon ring structures with triple bonds have been studied, e.g. cycloalkynes, heterocyclic compounds with triple bonds, and particularly dehydrobenzene (better known in the Anglo-American literature as benzyne) . Dehydrobenzene has not yet been isolated. The prospects of doing so are discussed.
