โœฆ Synopsis

Introduction.

-Recently, we have described verecynarmin A ((-)-l), the first briarane diterpenoid isolated from a mollusc, the nudibranch Armina maculata of East F'yrenean waters [I]. The origin of the compound was traced to the mollusc's prey, the octocoral Veretillum cynomorium [I], which belongs to an order, the Pennatulacea, tropical members of which have already given several briaranes [2].
