About eight years ago Anderson (1968) asked 100 college students in an introductory psychology class at the University of California, Los Angeles, to rate 555 personalitytrait words on likableness as personality characteristics. These normative ratings have been very useful in selecting trait descri

β¦ Synopsis
SL 2 (k) and a Subset of Words Over k ROLAND BACHER Given a field k, this paper defines a subset of the free semi-group F k (whose elements are all finite words with letters in k) which has some interesting arithmetic and combinatorial properties. The case p = 2 has been treated in Bacher (2000, Europ. J. Combinatorics, 21, 853-864) with slightly different notations. The link with SL 2 and motivation for studying this subset originates in Bacher (1999, Ann. Inst. Fourier, 49, 1115-1128).

The goal of this paper is to give a category theory based definition and classification of ''finite subgroups in U q Γ°sl 2 Γ'' where q ΒΌ e pi=l is a root of unity. We propose a definition of such a subgroup in terms of the category of representations of U q Γ°sl 2 Γ; we show that this definition is a
