His previously successful activity as Head of the Department of Chemistry as well as in various academic organization and research committees make him ideally suited for his new position as chief academic otiicer of his University. Prof. Hackerman is an international authority in corrosion science. He is the author of numerous papers on adsorption on metal surfaces, on the passivity of metals and related fields. CITCE, of which he has been a member for many years, extends its hearty congratulations to Prof. Hackerman on the occasion of this very well deserved promotion. ERRATA
