β¦ Synopsis
Ab initio calculations of the optical properties of silicon clusters of 20, 60, and 70 atoms are presented. Quantum molecular dynamics using a minimal sp 3 basis set are performed to find metastable and equilibrium atomic configurations. The optical properties of these clusters are calculated using an extended sp 3 d 5 basis. We discuss the dependence of the optical properties on the number of atoms as well as on the geometric configuration of these clusters.

We study the effects of surface reconstruction on the absorption spectra and optical gaps of hydrogen-terminated silicon clusters. The spectra and gaps are computed using an ab initio method based on the linear response theory within the time-dependent local-density approximation (TDLDA). Our calcul
Stable crystalline Lead Selenide nanoparticles (PbSe NPs) were prepared with a cubic (sphalerite) phase in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix. Moreover, XRD was used to characterize the PbSe NPs in PVA. The size were controlled by Pb:Se ions ratio in which the particle size was found to be inversely pro
Silicon nanoparticles have been synthesized by heating reactant gases with a 500 W CO 2 laser. A technique based on scattering of He-Ne laser light by particulates in a reaction flame has been developed for probing the particle size evolution during the process, in order to scale down the particle d
