✦ Synopsis

Spectral diffusion of singlet excitations in matrix-isolated poly-octylmethylsilane has been studied at 15 K employing siteselective fluorescence spectroscopy. Observation of a demarcation energy separating transport from localized states within the density of excited states is in accord with the random walk concept for incoherent excitation transport. Resonant emission at low excitation energies indicates weak coupling to phonons.
