I've always lived in the shadow of my older sister, Kristi...Ever since I could remember I was the less pretty sister. The less popular sister. The little girl who had to hide in her bedroom and play by herself lest she embaress her cooler, more popular sibling.Not much had changed as I grew up, but atleast I'd gotten used to it. If it wasn't Kristi it was somone else. There was always someone else to remind me of my many imperfections. To rub in my face how great they were and how great their life was in comparison to mine...I'd learned to keep my head down, work hard and enjoy life on my own terms. I didn't need to be the prettiest girl in the room, or the most popular, or even the most interesting. I was happy with what God had given me, and thankful for all the things I had in life. Not angry or upset about the things I didn't have and couldn't change... even if sometimes I wished I could.The only thing missing in my life was a man...Someone honest and kind. Someone to share my life with, the ups and the downs. Someone I'd be proud to call my partner and someone who would be proud to call me theirs...Well, let's just say life sometimes has a sense of humour...I definitely wasn't expecting to meet anyone at my sisters wedding, but meet someone I did! And not just any old man either. But more than likely the most eligible bachelor in the state!I won't deny that seeing my sister's reaction as our relationship blossomed didn't put a smile on my face just a little bit. But nothing in comparison to how I felt everytime Casey looked at me with those smoldering eyes of his and his rakishly good looks...
