The singlet exciton-charge carrier annihilation rate constant KS has been measured CLS Xi x 10-5cm3 set-1 for hoies and electrons. The mngnitude of Ks is discussed with respect to the magnitude of rhc electron-hole recombination rate constant.

Singlet excitons in anthracene crystal are annihilated by trapped hoIes near an Au hole-injecting electrode. The efficiency of detrappiny is about 1%. The singlet exciton fluorescence can be modulated by means of a varying external eIectric field.
