1 Chromosome numbers of all larvae, except two, were determined from direct chromosome counts of metaphase plates or from nucleolar number observed in tail tip whole mounts.
2All hexaploid type embryos attaining the feeding stage have been included among the normal larvae. However, they did display minor abnormalities such as slight microcephaly, smaller eyes, and curvature of the body ,axis. These symptoms were displayed by the hexaploids obtained from blastula nuclear transfers as with transfers of endoderm nuclei from early neurula embryos.
