Abstract
This work describes a new singleβlayer rectangular patch antenna with two pairs of parallel slits designed for dualβband operation. Numerical analyses are presented using the IE3Dβ’ and the ENSEMBLEβ’ electromagnetic simulator softwares. A prototype was manufactured and good agreement between the measurements and the CAD predictions were observed. The results obtained with the proposed technical solution showed improvements in the antenna impedance bandwidth and in the radiation characteristics, while maintaining the same polarization direction over the entire operational frequency range.
