Abstract
A single integralβequation formulation based on multilayered media Green's functions is presented and applied to 2βD dielectric grating problems. Its advantage over previous formulations based on freeβspace Green's functions is that, here, the unknowns appear only on the surfaces of the nonplanar parts of a layered grating structure.βΒ© 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
