ystals of the N-type superconducting Nd2_~CexCuO4_~. system have been grown by a self-flux technique. In this method, excess Ce is required to obtain single crystals with optimal superconducting properties. Crystals grown by this technique show superconducting transition temperatures with onsets of 27 K and transition widths of 3 K. The maximum size of these superconducting crystals is 7 mm × 7 mm × 0.05 ram.
