Niobium(V) (O-20 ,ug) can be determined spectrophotometrically after its extraction as ethylene-bis-(triphenylphosphonium) thiocyanatoniobate (V) into chloroform. The effects of diverse ions and masking studies are reported. The system is applied to the determination of mobmm in a range of steels.
