The electrochemistry of ~i("'(bpy), (ClOJ,] in acetonitrile has been re-examined using rotating disc and ring-disc electrode techniques. Based on the results of these experiments a consistent scheme for the coupled electron transfer and ligand exchange reactions is proposed.
