Abstract
We show that, if individual universal series exist, then we can choose a sequence of universal series performing simultaneous universal approximation with the same sequence of indices. As an application we derive the existence of universal Laurent Series on an annulus using only the existence of universal Taylor Series on discs. Our results are generic (ยฉ 2010 WILEYโVCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)

It is shown that this extremal simultaneous approximation problem is equivalent to the combinatorial problem of finding minimal l n such that any set of n residues modulo p can be covered by an arithmetic progression of the length l n . Error estimates are given for the approximation of stable recorded delay systems in the L 2 and Hยฎ norms, using two recently advocated techniques based on Laguerre series. In addition, some theoretical results on L~(0, oo) approximation are derived.
