The hydrodynamic problem of the rotating disc electrode is approximated using the weighted residual technique of orthogonal collocation. Results are given for a potential step applied to the electrode where simple reversible charge transfer to a single species takes place.

The polarographic reduction of erythrosin, the disodium salt of 2',4',5',7'-tetraiodofluorescein, was examined at pH 4.7. Three reduction steps were found. The first step involves two electrons and the reduction of the quinone group as in fluorescein. The second step results from the removal of the
Dropping mercury electrodes (DME) with short drop times have been considered unsuitable as indicator electrode in polarography because of the presence of the maximum of the second kind owing to the "Sptileffekt"l ; only a few papers on such an electrode have been published 2. KooNs studied the prope
Orthogonal collocation on finite elements is applied to discretize the DAE system for the simulation of multiple-fraction batch distillation processes. A detailed dynamic tray-by-tray model is used to describe batch columns more accurately which, however, leads to a set of model equations composed o
