โฆ Synopsis
This paper discusses the successful off-line application of simulation modelling to an automated paint shop in the electronics industry, installed in the United Kingdom. A brief overview of the application of simulation to automated manufacturing environments is provided. The system under consideration is described as well as the simulation model developed using the software package "WITNESS". This model was experimented with in order to discover the possibilities of increasing the throughput of the system and to get a better understanding of the real-world system behaviour. Results obtained are presented and discussed.
