Fluiten unveils new C2K cartridge seal
Fluiten Srl has launched a new cartridge seal for generic applications that it says is versatile, operationally reliable, and simple in its construction.
The C2K is aimed at all middlelow duty applications, with a maximum pressure of 12 bar, maximum speed of 12 m/s, and operating temperatures ranging from -50ยฐC to +200ยฐC. The company says this will allow a useful reduction of spares inventory.
Comprising only four essential parts -sleeve, spring (acting also as a driving system), rotating ring and stationary ring -the C2K's simplicity is the key to its reliability, says Fluiten.
For use with moderately dirty liquids, the seal has a wave spring that accepts some solid particles in liquid suspension and relatively viscous fluids. Resistance to corrosive chemicals is provided by the duplex stainless steel spring, PTFE or other perfluoroelastomer gaskets and an AISI 316 body.
For application on pumps or agitators subject to strong vibrations, cavitations and run-outs, Fluiten has released another version of the C2K seal, the C3K. This model incorporates a resistance-enhanced sleeve, which increases its versatility for installation on many different plants.
