Ah&act-The problem of a simply-supported plate subject to loads distributed over an arbitrarily shaped area is studied in this article. The solutions for the deflection and moment resultants are obtained by the Navier method, expressed in terms of load coefficients. For a load distributed over an arbitrarily shape area, the load coefficients can be readily determined by a boundary line integral technique. The validity and accuracy of the boundary integral method has been verified through a few examples.
