โฆ Synopsis
Dynamic headspace gas chromatography/mass spectrometry has been shown to be an effective yet simple technique for survey of volatiles contained in polymers in this and other work [l]. Thermal analysis mass spectrometry provides further information concerning the association of volatiles on carbon surfaces by measuring the on-line liberation of volatiles from surfaces during process simulation experiments. In addition, pyrolysis gas chromatography mass spectrometry can provide chemical structure information on organic polymers in high temperature heating studies. All of these techniques can be used to predict potential chemical hazards which arise from the use of organic aerospace materials.
