NOTE: This is part 1 of a series that is designed to be read in order. There are many layers to this story, and most books will have a clear beginning, middle and end, that wrap up nice and neatly. Book 1 and 2 are the exception as they set up the series. Part 1 has a naturally evolving cliff-hanger style ending, with a satisfying resolution to some questions raised.
