β¦ Synopsis
Silicone sponges are moulded to shape
SFS of Luton, UK, is offering a bespoke silicone sponge for use in a wide range of products and components.
Unlike extruded silicone sponge, it can be produced in much larger block sizes and in different shapes. Specific applications include seals, anti-vibration and heat-insulating components.
This grade of silicone sponge is fire-resistant and meets UL94V0 and FAA25.853 (b) vertical burn. It has a working temperature range of -60Β°C to 200Β°C, and is available in a standard off-white colour, but if required can be pigmented to a wide range of shades.
SFS says that it can be moulded onto substrates made from metal, fabrics or foil, and products can be supplied with or without an adhesive backing.
