✦ Synopsis

The stress intensity factor @IF) of a crack on the outside surface of a pressurized hollow cylinder is evaluated by Muskhelishvili formulation and the boundary collocation method. By comparing the figure obtained by Emery and Segedin [.L &us. Engng 94,387-393 (1972)] using a relaxation method it is shown that more reasonabie results can be obtained.
