## Abstract In this study, we synthesized novel 4′‐hydroxymethyl branched thioapiosyl nucleosides. The thioapiosyl sugar moiety was constructed using sequential ozonolysis and reduction. The natural bases (uracil, thymine, cytosine, and adenine) were efficiently coupled using the VorbrΓΌggen glycosy
