✦ Synopsis
We consider the problem of driving a Kirchhoff plate towards a desired state or profile at a final time ¹ while taking into account a quadratic cost of implementing the control. The control enters the equation as a bilinear term in the state equation. Our purpose is to prove that an optimal control of this type exists, may be characterized as a solution to an optimality system and is unique for time ¹ sufficiently small.
