The central hope is that a catalyst originally developed for a completely different application could be serendipitously found to be viable for another. Collaboration with the leading companies involved in the programme is also a desirable proposition.

Such a model is proven, having been successfully applied and exploited by high throughput companies such as Avantium and the German company, hte. This collaborative programme brings the same advantages to academia. Catalyst companies which are interested in participating are encouraged to contact the author.
