✦ Synopsis
In this paper we describe our practical experience in building a multi-agent information system (MAIS) called Sherpa. We use distributed artificial intelligence architecture to create a multi-agent information system that integrates distributed knowledge sources and information to aid decision making at Wisconsin Division of Narcotics Enforcement (WDNE). Our comparison of Sherpa with the existing system in use at WDNE shows that Sherpa outperforms the existing system in terms of efficiency and effectiveness of knowledge and process management.
