ABBTRACT: A she&mode~ description is presented of the spliUi?q of si?q&-proton kvek into components with defnite isotopic spin in the presence of a neutronrich nuclear wre. Explicit expressions for the renonnalized energies, wave functions and particle escape width4 of the resulting states are obtained. The intermediate-resonance mechanism of the formation of an analog excitution in protrm-initiated nuclear reactians is discussed.
