## Abstract The ultrasonic welding technology enables to produce highβstrength joints between sheet metal and aluminium foam sandwich (AFS) without melting of the metal or any damage of the foam structure. In the investigations the used welding processes and different factors influencing the weldab

β¦ Synopsis
Solid seal obtained by thermal spraying
Applicant: Commissariat Γ l'Energie Atomique, France This invention relates to the sealing of a ceramic matrix surface that contains a three-dimensional interconnected network of micro-cracks that are open at the surface. An additive material consisting of a flux or glass, is dispersed in the matrix. At a specified temperature it will soften and migrate by capillary action through the network of micro-cracks to the surface. A sufficient quantity of the additive material is dispersed in the matrix to create a gas-tight barrier.
