is to supply a complete tissue machine to Nuqul Group in Jordan. Nuqul's total project investment is approximately 80 million, although the value of Metso's contract has not been disclosed.
Metso's contribution will comprise a complete tissue machine, including air and ventilation equipment, a multilayering headbox, a long nip press, as well as sheet transfer and stabilizing technology.
With a width of 5.5 m, an operating speed of 2000 m/min, and an annual production of 54 000 tons of highquality facial, toilet and towel grades, the new machine will be one of the most modern in the world, and the largest in the region. The raw material for the new machine, which is scheduled to start production during the first quarter of 2005, will be virgin pulp.
METSO SUPPLIES BCTMP LINE TO CHINA Metso Paper will supply a bleached chemithermomechanical pulp (BCTMP) line for mechanical pulp production to Shandong Bohui
Paper Co Ltd in China. The value of the order has not been disclosed. Metso's delivery will include process technology for chip washing, main-line refining and screening, reject thickening and refining, pulp washing, bleaching and steam separation, as well as complete wood-and chip-handling systems. Metso will also supply the process control system.
The design capacity of the line, scheduled to be up and running in September 2004, is 660 tons per day of high-quality, high-bulk BCTMP pulp for board production. Chinese poplar will be used as the raw material.
