โœฆ Synopsis

How do you like your fantasy?

Weak, witless and predictable; or dark, daring and different?

'Shard' is an epic, full of dastardly villains , stalwart heroes and kick-ass damsels!

The good guys have a touch of 'bad' in them and the bag guys are bastards of the First Degree! Gritty, grungy and 'real', where blood runs freely and honour is worth more than gold --- or your life.

'Shard' is the story of the mythical broken sword that could not be broken; the story of the people that could not exist and the story of a deed that could not be done. It is, like all true 'legends', a tale of a little fellow battling overwhelming odds; of an insignificant nobody, (much like you or I), who fights the good fight, does the right thing and never gives up, gives in, or gives out till the job is finished, the deed is done and the big bad bastard is rotting in the ground!

If 'those' are the things that get your juices flowing, start your heart racing and perchance even brings a tear to the corner of your eye, then 'Shard' is for you!

If honour, love, duty and guts are important in your own 'inner world', then read on Fair Friend --- the land of Oma-Var and 'Shard' await!

Like all 'fantasies' in the 21st century that deal with elves, dwarves, wizards and 'little people', 'Shard' will be compared to Tolkien's masterpiece, The Lord of the Ring trilogy. All I can say is that my Kirkweans are a tad 'rougher' than his Hobbits and that my Erin ap Conn character makes Strider seem like his undersexed kid brother. Fantasy with that HBO 'edge' might best describe it.

But then why take my word for it? Read 'Shard' and make up your own mind.

"Beneath the stars, beneath the moon,

Beneath the heat of the sun.

No rest, no peace, no hearth nor home,

Till the Swordbearer's task be done."
