Laser Books, No. 57, 1977. This is the final book in the "Laser" series of science fiction adventure novels. This title is very rare, as it was never distributed to bookstores, only to mail subscribers to the series.
As a telepath, Krison Camarch is despised by humanity. Pursued by authorities for a crime he didn't commit, he finds himself aboard the starship freighter Birmingham, in the company of a strange little alien of a race he has never seen before. A group of archeologists has leased the Birmingham to explore a planet only visited by mankind once before, two centuries earlier. To his horror Camarch discovers that the trip is a ruse, and that he is being kidnapped from his time and place to play a role billions of years in the future, helping an unimaginably advanced race try to defeat an invincible enemy. On the planet Uzoxes, and in the mind-bending ruins of C'has Lai, Camarch discovers that juggling the future has devastating ramifications for the past.
