The goals of the three-year experiment described here are: (1) to set up a prototype school guidance-counseling program as a model for schools interested in starting such a program; (2) to correct some of the existing misconceptions about the functions and practices of guidance services in Turkey; and (3) to evaluate the professional competency of the graduates of a two-year master's program in guidance and counseling at Bo~aziqi University, Department of Education.
