✦ Synopsis
IN view of two publicatiohs on the dew sesquiterpends from the wood of Taiwania cryptomerioides Hayata' and from the eeeential oil of cubeb 2 , we would like to record our reeults on the structure of new sesquiterpcne alcohols from the timber of Cedrela toona Roxb., aa our alcohola appear to be identical with these. We have also effected partial synthesis of two of these from 6 -cadinene. The latter correlation has a bearing on the recently proposed etructures ford-cadinene3 and 6-cadinol 435 . This work is in continuation of our earlier lnveetigationa 697 on the constituents of Cedrela toona.
