โฆ Synopsis
A case of seroma (serrous accumulation) following extraction of teeth is reported. The diagnostic work-up, surgical treatment, and follow-up of probably the first described case in the oral cavity is presented. Seroma should be included as a very rare complication in the differential diagnosis of longstanding swelling after surgery in the oral region. HEAD & NECK SURGERY FIGURE 2. Histologic section of the capsule showing cellular and vascular components. The connective tissue is densely fibrous resembling scar tissue. Hematoxylin and eosin, original magnification, x 100.
